Burn with Kearns: You’re Not Out of Shape… You’re Out of Alignment – Week 2 – Kevin Kearns

My Performance Edge – Week 2
“You’re Not Out of Shape… You’re Out of Alignment”
Most men over 40 don’t have a motivation problem. They have a misalignment problem. What used to work… doesn’t anymore.
And instead of adjusting, they double down.
Train harder.
Push longer.
Ignore the signals.
And slowly… things stop responding.
When Effort Stops Matching Results
You’re still putting in the work.
But now:
– Fat loss slows down
– Recovery takes longer
– Joints start talking back
– Energy becomes inconsistent
So the natural instinct is to push harder.
But that’s not the answer. Because the issue isn’t effort.
It’s that your internal systems aren’t keeping up with your output.
The Gap Nobody Addresses
There’s a gap that shows up after 40.
Between what you demand from your body…
And what your body can actually recover from.
Ignore that gap, and you get:
– Lingering inflammation
– Accumulated fatigue
– Plateaued performance
Respect it—and everything starts working again.
Training Is Only Half the Equation
Most programs are built around what you do during the workout.
Very few are built around what happens after.
That’s where the real shift is happening now.
Less focus on punishment… More focus on adaptation.
Because strength, fat loss, and energy don’t come from the grind alone.
They come from how well your body can repair and recalibrate.
The Subtle Shift Smart Athletes Are Making
You’re starting to see a different approach emerge.
Not louder—just smarter.
– Supporting recovery instead of ignoring it
– Managing inflammation instead of chasing soreness
– Looking at performance from the inside out
There’s a growing awareness that output without internal support is a losing game.
Why Alignment Changes Everything
When your training, recovery, and internal systems are aligned:
– Workouts feel productive again
– Energy stabilizes
– Strength comes back online
– Fat loss starts moving
Not because you’re doing more…
But because your body is finally able to respond.
Train Like a Fighter—Adapt Like a Veteran
You don’t need to prove how hard you can go anymore.
You need to understand how well you can adapt.
That’s the edge.
Short, effective sessions.
Intentional intensity.
Recovery that actually restores you.
And a growing focus on giving your body what it needs beneath the surface to keep performing.
Quietly. Consistently. Effectively.
