Get your holiday(s) on! – Pawtucket’s Fairlawn Christmas Tree Lighting & Mayor’s Holiday Dinner
Two traditional events are back and strong this year. The Fairlawn Christmas tree lighting is set for Sunday, December 5th and the Mayor’s Annual Christmas Dinner set for December 14th.
_____
On Sunday, December 5th, the Fairlawn Business Association and City of Pawtucket will present the Annual Fairlawn Tree Lighting Ceremony at Nathanael Greene Elementary School, 285 Smithfield Ave.

Starting at 4:00PM, the Pawtucket Public Safety Department and Public Works Department will host a Touch-a-Truck event for families to enjoy.

Plouffe’s Cup N Saucer will be providing hot chocolate and cookies for the event.
The tree lighting will begin at 5:30PM.
The event is free and open to the public.
Organizers are holding the event completely outdoors due to the COVID issue and they ask anyone not feeling well to please not attend.
For any questions, residents are encouraged to call 401-728-0500 ext. 429.
_____
Mayor Donald R. Grebien invites the Pawtucket community to attend the annual Mayor’s Holiday Dinner, to be held on Tuesday, December 14th, from noon to 1:30PM in the Fogarty Manor Community Room at 214 Roosevelt Avenue.

The long-standing tradition is free and open to all city residents and is sponsored by the donations of food, money, and volunteer help from local businesses and individuals. The dinner has always enjoyed the company of “celebrity guests” that serve as wait staff for the day.
Transportation to and from the holiday dinner will be provided by the Leon Mathieu Senior Center and must be reserved in advance by calling 401-728-7582.
Pre-registration and masking will be required for this event. Individuals who live outside of Pawtucket Housing are encouraged to call or visit the Senior Center to register.
For individuals looking for more information about the event, or for those who would like to know how they can assist, please reach out the Mayor’s Office by calling 401-728-0500 ext. 281.
