Vietnam War Veterans Day program in Newport – “The Lucky Few”
“The Lucky Few” – The Story of Operations Frequent Wind and New Life, Lecture III of the VFW Post 406, Newport, will commemorate Vietnam War Veterans Day on Wednesday March 23, 2022 at the Newport Elks Lodge 104. Members of the Lodge are inviting Vietnam veterans, all veterans, and the public to attend as a commemoration of Vietnam War Veterans Day.
The Lodge is located at 141 Pelham Street, in Newport. The program will begin promptly at 5:00 PM with a social gathering to include Hors d’oeuvres & Cash Bar.
The 6pm lecture will be given by Commander Hugh J. Doyle, U.S. Navy (Retired). “The Lucky Few” – the story of “Operations Frequent Wind and New Life” – a heroic tale of courage, perseverance, and humanity that was the evacuation of more than 33,000 Vietnamese refugees after the end of the Vietnam War.
