I am asking everyone to keep my brother Gary in your thoughts and prayers. As some of you know, Gary has been struggling with stage 4 COPD and has severe respiratory problems. He has been getting 24 hour nursing care for the past year at The Holiday Nursing home, where they adore him and take great care of him. Unfortunately, my brother Gary has recently contracted Covid 19. ? So far he has only mild symptoms but we are very worried for him What’s really upsetting is he made it this whole year at the Holiday, not contracting the disease even during outbreaks in the facility. He was a few days away from finally getting the vaccine on the 12th when he contracted Covid. It’s very hard for me to absorb this. It makes me so angry at the state and the RIDOH who promised us that the most vulnerable would be given vaccinations first. Instead Nursing home in the state are still not vaccinated while inmates have gotten vaccine, young politicians and some of healthiest in a vulnerable job such as police and fire. Now I know the police and fire need it, I know how bad it is, your strong, young, and in shape, but your going before others who are the Most Vulnerable! Why hasn’t one policeman or fireman or woman made a statement and instead of getting the vaccine, stated they wanted to give their to the most vulnerable in the state first? It’s not right. The state lied to us the DOH cannot deliver and cannot be trusted to follow through. They abandoned him and I’m freaking pissed off. Please keep my family in your prayers, his children, Gary Steven, Russell, and Melissa, his grandchildren and all his family and me too. He’s all I got left and I love him so very very much.
