RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, Jan. 30/31, 2021
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 01/30/21:
Clear and cold as high pressure rolls in over the region. Our coldest air of the season so far will bottom out in the morning with lows in the single digits and afternoon highs climbing ALL THE WAY to 20. The winds will make their presence felt, gusting into the 20’s and dragging chills down to 0-5 degrees.
Sunday 01/31/21:

Still cold with high pressure in place, morning lows in the single digits and highs in the mid 20’s. Winds will have subsided, so chills temps not nearly as brutal as they’ve been. An Appalachian low pressure system will develop and approach from the southwest providing some increasing cloud cover beginning in the afternoon.
