Rhode Island Weather for March 5, 2026
Afternoon: Temperatures peak in the upper 30s to around 41°F under mostly cloudy to fully overcast skies. Light to moderate rain becomes more widespread and steady at times, with breezier moments possible as winds hold steady from the northeast around 6-10 mph. The air will feel raw and damp, hovering in the mid-30s, and precipitation totals could add up to 0.2-0.5 inches across much of the state by evening. It’s a classic raw March day—not extreme, but consistently uncomfortable for being outside without proper gear.
Evening: As the sun sets, temperatures drop quickly back into the low-to-mid 30s and continue falling toward the low 30s or upper 20s overnight. The sky remains cloudy with lingering chances of light rain or showers, especially early in the evening, before things taper off later. Patchy fog or drizzle could linger in spots too. Winds ease up and stay light from the northeast or east, making it feel like the upper 20s to low 30s. Any remaining precipitation should be light and scattered by midnight.
It’s a “C-” day!
