Rhode Island Weather for March 1, 2026
It’s a cold winter-like day with some snow potential early on, transitioning to clearer and much colder conditions.
It’s quite cold for early March (well below typical averages of around 40-45°F highs), with some snow risk in the morning/early day that could make travel messy, but precipitation chances drop later with clearing skies. Accumulation could be 1/2 inch to 1-3 in higher elevations.

Morning: Cold start with lows in the upper 20s to around 30°F overnight into early morning. Chance of light snow or snow showers. Partly to mostly cloudy, windy. Highs climbing slowly to mid-30s. Expect chilly, potentially slippery conditions.
Afternoon: Highs around 33-37°F. Snow chance decreases significantly after midday, becoming partly cloudy to mostly sunny in places. Winds 5-15 mph from north/northwest. Still quite cold with wind chill in the teens to 20s.
Evening: Clearing further, lows dropping sharply to around 9-16°F (very cold, with some areas near single digits). Partly cloudy to clear, light winds. High chance of frost or freeze, bundle up heavily.
Overall, it’s a “C-” day — brighter, milder, and more comfortable, though chilly nights still bring a refreeze risk.
