Rhode Island Weather for January 25, 2026
Morning:
The morning is very cold and mostly cloudy, with temperatures starting in the single digits. Conditions are dry early, but clouds are thickening as a winter system approaches from the south and west.
Afternoon:
Through the afternoon, skies remain mostly cloudy and bitterly cold, with temperatures rising only into the teens to near 20°F. Snow is expected to begin by late morning to midday, becoming more noticeable as the afternoon goes on. Once snow starts, it will accumulate quickly due to the cold air.
Evening:
Snow continues into the evening, steady at times, with temperatures remaining in the teens. Travel conditions deteriorate, especially on untreated roads, sidewalks, and secondary streets. This marks the core impact period of the storm.
Overall Letter Grade: D-
Extreme cold combined with accumulating snow during the day and evening makes for a high-impact winter day. Conditions are hazardous, uncomfortable, and disruptive — even without wind or blizzard conditions.
