RI Weather Today, Monday, April 13, 2020
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
We’ll wake to light rain and southerly winds that will increase in intensity through the morning, and be quite intense by midday and last into mid-afternoon. A strong and deepening low pressure center moving into the northeastern US will drag a cold front through the area, along which isolated to scattered thunderstorms will form and add to the wet and blustery mayhem. Winds gusting upwards of 50 mph and even higher along the coasts, which, combined with the moderate to heavy rain could lead to beach erosion and coastal flooding. Morning lows in the low 50’s climbing only to the upper 50’s.
