Your RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, May 15/16, 2021
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 5/15/21:
High pressure continues to build to our southwest with afternoon cloud cover popping up with daytime heating. There’s not a lot of upper level energy in place, so we’re not likely to see anything widespread or intense, maybe a passing drop or three. Morning lows in the low 50’s and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70’s with a southwesterly breeze.
Sunday 5/16/21:
An upper level trough sweeps through in the afternoon, increasing the chances for some afternoon convective showers and even a thunderstorm most likely in the northwestern arc inland from Narragansett Bay. Morning lows in the mid 50’s and afternoon highs in the mid 70’s with continued southwesterly breezes.
