Your RI Weather Today, Oct. 21, 2021 – John Donnelly

by John Donnelly, meteorologist

Warm front passes through with southwesterly breezes filling in behind and ushers in still warmer air for the day. We’re looking for a nice afternoon high in the low 70’s with lots of sun, some high cloud patches dotting the sky from time to time, but mainly decoration, nothing to get into a twist over.

We’ll have some temperature-dewpoint separation in the morning, so we may see some grasstop dew instead of light ground mist. Whatever the case, a brilliant mid-Fall bonus!

Jack Donnelly

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards not away from thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the Mccabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War. A meteorologist, John also is an avid golfer, runner, reader, hack guitarist, and walker. If you see a weatherman walking in a blue Jim Cantore weather jacket carrying an umbrella, look out!
