To Do in RI: 2-day Newport Flower Show – Authors on floral design to speak
Two acclaimed floral experts will share their artistic insights during the 29th annual Newport Flower Show at Rosecliff.

Cordelia de Castellane has been described as a tastemaker and true ambassador of French lifestyle. On Saturday, June 21, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the author of “Flower Couture: From My Garden to My House” will demonstrate the art of building a floral arrangement.
The artistic director of Dior Home and Baby Dior, de Castellane is also a businesswoman who recently opened Cordelia Coffee Flower Shop in Paris. Her latest book offers inspiring ideas and secrets for gardening, unique flower arranging and entertaining. It is a sequel to her first book, “Life in a French Country House.”

And on Sunday, June 22, at 10 a.m., Emily Thompson, the author of “Emily Thompson Flowers,” will demonstrate her own unique approach to floral design. A Vermont native who holds a master of fine arts degree in sculpture, Thompson incorporates wild-grown materials such as plants, branches, moss and pods into her arrangements. She has cultivated projects at the White House, MoMA, the Whitney Museum and Lincoln Center.
These presentations in the Taste Design LLC Education Tent on the Rosecliff grounds are included with your show ticket for the day of the presentation. Copies of both books will be available for purchase, and each author will sign books at the end of her lecture.
