RI Weekend Weather Wrap – July 3/4, 2021
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 7/3/21:
Low pressure sits around all day and kicks up light rain morning, noon, and night under the clouds for the first half of the holiday weekend. Temps stay low in the cool air, afternoon highs only achieving the low 60’s after a low in the upper 50’s with a northeasterly breeze.
July 4th:

Unfortunately another soggy one for our Independence Day. A secondary trough of low pressure trails behind the exiting system and will generate more light rain mainly in the afternoon and evening. A southwesterly turn in the wind will allow for slightly warmer air over the area, afternoon highs in the upper 60’s from lows in the upper 50’s.
