RI Weekend Weather, Sept. 17/18, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 9/17/22:
High pressure slides a bit east, allowing for a shift in the breeze to a more southerly direction. Still bright and sunny and seasonably warm after a chilly start. Morning lows around 50 and highs around 70.
Sunday 9/18/22:

The persistent southerly flow will continue to bring warm and moist air into the region, with a palpable rise in relative humidity. More cloud cover expected as a cold front drops into northern and central New England. Afternoon highs in the low 80’s from morning lows in the mid 60’s with a gusty southwesterly breeze.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
