RI Weather Today, Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Sunday 11/24/19:
A vigorous coastal low pressure system, a late fall Nor’Easter in fact, takes over Sunday with rain and lots of it particularly along the south shore and beaches, so some erosion can be expected. A cold rain will begin in the wee hours of the morning, and grow heavy by midday driven by brisk and gusty northeasterly winds, temps remaining on the low side, mostly in the 30’s, reaching the low 40’s if we’re lucky for an afternoon high after a morning low near freezing. Slick roads for morning drivers should be watched out for as well, given ground level temps always a few degrees cooler than measuring height (6’ 6”).
