RI Weather Today, Monday 1/3/20:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
High pressure from the southwest brings more early February warmth into southern New England.
We’ll start with a cool morning, lows around the freezing mark, and combined with a fair amount of moisture present, there’ll be some windshield scraping in order. However, temps will quickly warm through the morning, and early afternoon highs are expected to be in the upper 40’s to low 50’s with abundant sunshine and only isolated to scattered clouds over much of the area. A general westerly wind will gust occasionally to 25 mph, but given the relatively high temps, wind chills will only be dragged into the 40’s. Bearable.
