RI Black Film Festival

Little Richard Doc, Bonnie BBlue and first black movie star, Lincoln Perry headline annual Black Film Festival
The 2023 Rhode Island Black Film Festival, “Black Culture in Film”will run April 20 to April 23 at locations around Providence, including Pepsi Forum Auditorium, Johnson & Wales University, Providence Public Library, and Brown University.
FILM FESTIVAL LOCATIONS
April 20, 10a.m. -12:30 pm
Johnson Wales University, Pepsi Forum, Wales Hall, 8 Abbott Park Place, Providence
April 21, 10:00 a.m – 5pm
Providence Public Library, 150 Empire Street-Providence -Thomas Farish Auditorium -3rd Floor
April 22, 10:00 a.m. – 5pm
Southside Cultural Center of Rhode Island
(Trinity United Methodist Church-entrance in rear of bldg)- 393 Broad Street-Providence
April 23, 12:30-5pm
Brown University Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs 280 Brook Street-Providence
The festival showcases films by first time and seasoned filmmakers from Providence, Paris (France) and official selections-awards with reach including the Cannes Film Festival.
“The festival is a rare opportunity in Providence to fully engage with the world through the medium of film,” says Ann Clanton, managing director and founder of the Rhode Island Black Film Festival (RIBFF).
