Rhode Island Weather for June 2, 2023 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
A warm and sunny start to the day, with building afternoon cloud cover as a back door cold front sweeps in from the north. Showers develop around 5pm, with the outside chance of an embedded thunderstorm possible. Winds swing around to northerly in the evening once the front passes through. Afternoon highs reach into the low to mid 80’s after morning lows in the mid 50’s.
It’s a “B” day!

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst.
