Rhode Island Weather for April 22, 2026
Morning starts on the chilly side with temperatures in the low to mid 30s°F near sunrise, gradually warming into the upper 30s to around 40°F by late morning. Skies begin mostly cloudy to overcast, with a chance of a few showers developing, especially after sunrise. Light winds and damp conditions make it feel brisk—layers are a must.
Afternoon sees highs reaching the upper 40s to low 50s°F under mostly cloudy skies, with periods of light rain or showers possible (higher chances in the early to mid afternoon). Winds pick up a bit from the northwest or north, adding a raw edge to the air, though it stays dry enough for quick outdoor tasks if prepared.
Evening brings falling temperatures into the mid to upper 30s°F as showers taper off. Skies remain mostly cloudy to partly clearing later, with lighter winds and continued cool, damp air heading into the overnight hours.
Overall letter grade: C-
It’s a typical raw, early spring day in RI—cool, gray, and a bit damp with limited sunshine, making it feel more like late March than late April. Not terrible for getting things done if you’re dressed for it, but far from pleasant or energizing.
