The Preserve to Host 2026 Rhode Island FITASC Open
The Preserve Sporting Club & Resort will welcome shooting-sports enthusiasts and sporting-clays competitors to its Richmond grounds this Saturday, September 5, for the annual Rhode Island FITASC Open.
The full-day competition will feature a 100-bird FITASC course and a 100-bird Super Sporting course, giving shooters of varying skill levels an opportunity to test their precision, speed and technique.
Registration and warm-up begin at 8 a.m., with the courses open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Lunch will be available for purchase on-site.
The cost is $135 per FITASC shooter and $110 per Super Sporting shooter. The event will be held at The Sporting Shoppe at The Preserve Sporting Club & Resort, 1 Preserve Boulevard in Richmond. Registration is available online here.
The Preserve is a four-season sporting resort that has been called “The Finest Sporting Club in America” by Forbes. Its amenities include two sporting-clays courses, a 210-foot European shooting tower, the country’s longest indoor shooting range and upland hunting.
The resort also features Double Barrel Steak in partnership with chef David Burke, the Bentley Outdoor Experience, a 12,000-square-foot spa, an equestrian center and an 18-hole golf course.
About The Preserve – Over 800 acres set amidst 3,500 acres of Rhode Island’s natural beauty
The Preserve was conceived as an unparalleled luxury resort and master-planned community, offering the best outdoor experiences, restaurants, luxury accommodations and luxury homes in the United States within a breathtaking, protected landscape.
Welcoming a community of like-minded outdoor enthusiasts – a gathering of stewards of our environment who seek a sanctuary from the rigors of modern life – The Preserve has created a variety of lodging types to suit many needs, all with luxurious amenities, to provide an elevated experience within unspoiled nature.
Stewardship of nature is a major part of our pursuit. Our pristine acres are surrounded by thousands more protected acres of the Carolina Management Area, and we are constantly modeling preservation traits we see utilized in these open spaces, grasslands and forestlands as we shape The Preserve Sporting Club & Residences. Selective cutting, wildlife sanctuaries and donated non-developable land are just some of the many ways we give back to nature for all that it lends us.

They don’t have 3,500. Only under 800.
We checked multiple sources; The Preserve occupies approximately 800 acres in Richmond, according to municipal development records—not the 3,500 acres claimed in its promotional materials. That appears to be the surrounding Carolina Management area – THANK YOU!
