Pawtucket/Central Falls Restaurant Weeks & Empanada Fest

Mayors Grebien and Rivera will kick-off the joint 2021 Restaurant Weeks for Pawtucket and Central Falls at noon at Dexter Plaza, Dexter Street, Central Falls, today.

Restaurant Weeks for the two cities will be from August 27th to September 19th and the joint press conference announces the return of the event as well as a first-ever Empanada Fest.

Empanada Fest – September 18th – 1-3pm – Slater Park:

Pawtucket-Central Falls are hosting the first ever PCF Empanada-Fest on Saturday, September 18th from 1 pm – 3 pm at Slater Park (401 Newport Ave, Pawtucket, RI).* This event is a celebration of the local empanada making restaurant community in a friendly competition where the participants are the judges! Participants can register online to join the event and rate their favorite empanadas. Each registered participants will receive one judging card which entitles them to a free sample empanada/patty from each of the ten (10) local restaurant vendors. Participants will then rate their top three favorites, 1 = Top Choice, 2 = Second Choice, 3 = Third Choice. At the conclusion of the event, the votes will be tallied and winners announced!

Each participant who submits a judging card will be automatically entered into a raffle to win $50 gift card from their choice of the 10 participating restaurants.

This event is taking place the same day as the Family Fun Day in Slater Park. There will also be music, ice cream trucks and other food vendors, fun houses and games, and art vendors selling their goods at locations adjacent to the Empanada-Fest.

*If there is poor weather on the 18th, the event will be moved to the next day, Sunday, September 19th at the same time.*
