Meet Cali – Cranston Police Department
Storytime Meet and Greet with CALI, the Cranston Police Department Therapy Dog on Thursday, February 20th, from 11am to noon at Barrington Books Retold in Garden City Center, Cranston.
Join us for our special guests Cali
and Detective Michael Iacone from Cranston Police Department for a special
storytime and meet and greet.
Cali is the state’s first comfort therapy dog to serve as a member of a Rhode
Island police department, as well as the first resident canine at a hospital.
Her police job is with the Cranston Police Department, and her hospital
assignment will be at Hasbro.
Cali, an Australian Labradoodle, helps comfort children suspected of being
abused and build their trust with investigators and physicians. Cali gives the
children a buddy and a shoulder to lean on.
