I’m not a socialist and I’m not a communist, but I can’t help feeling that the person who bought the Superman comic book for 9.12M had personally siphoned off way too much wealth from the economic system. Or maybe that the person had imbibed far too little of the ideas of truth, justice, and the American Way, meaning such as Carnegie-style philanthropy or other investment in the well-being of society.
For that money, person-in-question could have equipped and funded a derring-do band of superheroes to seek and rescue the schoolgirls that were abducted in Nigeria, so that the children could enjoy not comic books, but childhood, and life. Their kidnapped teachers, too.
