CDC votes 8 to 3 to recommend only newborn babies get a HEP vaccine whose mothers test positive for Hep B (or whose status is unknown). No longer across the board at birth – but wait until 2 mos. after birth for vaccine. ALSO, usually one vaccine is given at birth, a second at 1-3 months later and a third at 6-15 months of age. New recommendations that antibody levels be tested after each shot to determine whether additional shots are needed. Some will need 1 shot, some 2, some all 3.

New restrictions for immigrants, reducing the work authorization periods from five years to 18 months,

    How nice to see in national news that Bally’s garnered preliminary approval to build a $4M casino in the Bronx. New York City has enough problems.
    Vice marches on. This ought to be a real positive development in the lives of the citizens [sic] of the Bronx. A drain on the income of lower-income people.
    See some of the studies and statistics on gambling.
