Cranston’s Meri Kennedy a “Hall of Famer”

Each year the Cranston Hall of Fame honors alumni who have graduated from a public high school in Cranston and has had an impact in that community, in their profession, in their lives.. While all the honorees have not been announced, RINewsToday.com is pleased to learn that Meri R. Kennedy will be a 2019 inductee. 

Meri R. Kennedy, former Director of the Cranston Chamber of Commerce and now entering her 24th year of local news coverage with the Cranston Herald is among those who have been nominated into the 2019 Cranston Hall of Fame! More to come!

Meri is known among media folks and residents of the Cranston, Johnston and Warwick area for her work as a reporter for the three local newspapers, her hometown Cranston Herald, the Warwick Beacon, and a columnist reporter for the Johnston Sun Rise. She is also an active community volunteer.

Meri is a graduate of Cranston High School East ‘81 and Rhode Island College ’85. She is also the author of “My Enemy, Myself”, the chronicling of her survival from childhood sexual abuse and rape. She was also formerly an Executive Director of the Greater Cranston Chamber of Commerce, and is a Cranston resident.

The Cranston Hall of Fame now has over 200 members. It will be held this year on October 25th at the Alpine Country Club. For more information, contact: [email protected]
