Gimme’ Shelter: Draco an easy, breezy, 4-year old gal at Providence Animal Control Center

American Staffordshire Terrier – Adult – Female

Hi! I’m Draco and I am about 4 years old and I have been through it!

I was with my person’s brother when he was pulled over and about to be arrested … but he ran, and left me in the car! Well, the car needed to be towed so a nice police officer brought me to PAC. I was with her for a little while and bonded with her quickly. I tend to do that, bond with people I get to know for a little while. I am slower to warm up to strangers but I come off more confident that I truly am.

I am a smart girl who wants to know things, all of the things but, no one ever showed me. I do like to chew, especially on my Kongs and other squeaky things. I am just as happy to be in the grass and hanging out with my people, nice and easy breezy.

My person was supposed to come for me, but they never did so unfortunately, PAC doesn’t know too much about me, only the sweet thing they see! Which is a lot! I am a lovely almost middle aged lady – I also have not objected to the dogs who I have met but I can also live solo too. Please reach out about me.

If you can see me, I am still available! We prefer everything regarding adoption be done via email, this way we can answer any time or day! We do need an application submitted before scheduling a visit. If you don’t have access to email, no worries, please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email [email protected] or [email protected]*

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
