Cranstonians have “Coffee with a Cop”
“Coffee With a Cop” this Wednesday, May 4th from 8:30am to 10:30am with the officers of the Cranston Police Department at Café International, 675 Oaklawn Avenue in Cranston.
This “community policing” event continues for the Cranston Police Department because of its popularity with the Cranston community, giving members and officers the opportunity to dialogue and get to know one another. Lively discussions have happened over coffee and breakfast, and this event builds on the original Coffee With a Cop first organized in California in 2011, and now held in every state, and many locations in the world.
With newer forms of policing not including “walking the beat” where informal opportunities for officers and residents get to know each other in the community, events like this, as well as holiday shopping with local children, etc., are integral to establishing trust with one another.
The event is open to all.
