Christmas Trees Lighting Up in Cranston

Perhaps no city has more Christmas Tree Lightings than Cranston.  Here’s the list of public events, as best we know.

November 30 – December 1

FEZ-TIVAL OF TREES at The RI Shriners, Rhodes-on-the-Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston – Free visits with Santa Claus, Holiday Marketplace with over 60 vendors, crafters, and local artisans. Visit Mrs. Claus’ deliciousness table! Raffles. Local musicians and entertainment. $2 suggested donation for adults; children under 12 are free.

December 1

Knightsville Gazebo, corner of Phenix Ave & Cranston St

5th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – The evening starts at 4:30pm with the Saint Mary’s school chorus followed by the lighting at the gazebo. Christmas Carols, Hot Chocolate and even a special visit from the guy in the Red suit! Gather with neighbors, friends, family and celebrate this great neighborhood tradition!

December 1

Cranston Ward 3 Tree Lighting, awn at Sprague Mansion, 1351 Cranston St. Free, and open to all. Bain Middle School Chorus sings at 4pm, welcome from Councilman John Donegan, tree lighting at 4:30pm

December 3

Official Christmas Tree Lighting with Mayor Fung

Tuesday, December 3rd, 6pm at Cranston City Hall

Santa will be there to pose for your pictures. Musical performances will end with the tree lighting at 6:45pm. Parking behind City Hall.

Saturday, December 7

Pawtuxet Village Christmas Tree Lighting, Pawtuxet Park, Warwick

5:00pm (Rain date: Sunday, same time, luminaries only)

Visit with Santa, Christmas Sing-Along, Lighting of the Luminarias, Tree Lighting

Canned goods or non-perishable food item donations for local food pantry

Thursday, December 12

Oaklawn Grange, 42 Wheelock Ave

Tree Lighting and horse drawn carriage rides. Join in the festivities during the annual Oaklawn Grange tree lighting ceremony, which will be held on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. Included in the fun will be a visit from Santa Claus and horse drawn carriage rides from New Deal Farms through Oaklawn village.
