ri weather for 9-10-2026

Rhode Island Weather for September 10, 2026

Morning is the weakest stretch. After a muggy overnight in the upper 60s to around 70, skies stay cloudy and there is a 30–40% chance of showers, mainly before mid-morning. Temperatures are already in the low-to-mid 70s, southwest to west winds run 10–15 mph with gusts near 25–30, and it will feel sticky.

.
Afternoon looks better. Clouds break toward partly to mostly sunny, and it turns hot for mid-September, with highs around 82 along the coast and 85–86 in Providence. West winds stay 10–15 mph with gusts up to about 30. Humidity is still noticeable, but rain chances drop after the morning.
.
Evening cools off as drier air starts to arrive. Skies become mostly cloudy, winds shift northwest at 5–10 mph, and temperatures slide through the 70s toward the upper 50s overnight. A slight leftover shower chance is possible early, then it should stay dry.

.

Overall grade: B-
— a usable afternoon once the morning showers clear, but humidity, wind, and that early rain keep it from being a clean late-summer day.
