Gimme’ Shelter: Phoebe Lemons at Providence Animal Control Center

Meet Phoebe Lemons – Sweet, Spunky, and One-of-a-Kind!

Huddled in a bush, scared and unsure, little Phoebe Lemons was rescued just in time. When she arrived at PAC, it was clear she wasn’t feeling her best—wobbly on her feet, with a fever and something not quite right. A thorough check revealed a large abscess on her side, but thanks to quick medical care and lots of TLC, she’s made a fantastic recovery!

Phoebe does have a mild case of cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a condition that gives her a bit of a wobbly walk—but it doesn’t slow her down one bit! In fact, now that she’s feeling better, Phoebe is all about playtime, pouncing, and living her best kitten life. She’s around 6 months old and full of love and personality.

What makes Phoebe special? She’s got a unique look and tons of charm. Loves to play and explore! Gets along with other cats or would be happy as your one and only.

Due to her medical history, she can only be adopted in Rhode Island, but her perfect home is out there waiting.

Phoebe Lemons is proof that sometimes the most perfect companions come with a little extra personality and a lot of heart.

Ready to meet this sweetheart? Come say hello and see if she’s the missing piece in your family.

***If you can see me, I am still available! We prefer everything regarding adoption be done via email, this way we can answer any time or day! We like to have an application submitted before scheduling a visit but it’s not required, an email conversation is great! If you don’t have access to email, no worries, please call 401 680 7591. We differ from other shelters by offering a one-on-one experience between you, our staff and the animal or animals you’ve chosen to become a new family member! Please email [email protected]*****

About the Providence Animal Control Division

The Providence Animal Control Division protects the health and safety of our residents and their pets with progressive leadership and education, and continues to engage the hearts and minds of the community to help all animals.

As of November 2015, the Animal Control Division has adopted a “low risk euthanasia” philosophy of healthy adoptable animals and will continue to improve the live release rate of shelter animals via adoptions, returning strays to their owners, transferring animals to rescues, TNR, programs/services and treating medical cases. We believe that with progressive programs, we can have a more humane City. Through our Gimme Shelter program, PAC is spaying and neutering owned and feral cats for Providence residents. To participate please send a message through our Facebook page at Providence Animal Care Center.
