Stages of Freedom (www.stagesoffreedom.org), which Mr. Rickman co-founded with Robb Dimmick in 2016, elevates and interprets African American history and culture creatively while also underwriting no-cost swimming lessons for youth throughout our state.
At First U Mr. Rickman will address the topic, “How Good People Can Do More Good.” He will discuss how to talk about race and racism with people who think differently than we may think, offering real-world strategies on this issue intelligently, respectfully, and effectively.
Ray Rickman has himself been a force for good in our nation and region for more than thirty years, from his role as chief of staff to U.S. Representative John Conyers to his work as executive director of the Providence Human Relations Commission and his presidency of the American Civil Liberties Union, among many other distinctions.
