Masks – for you, and you, and you…what took so long?
The CDC now recommends that due to new research which has shown that the Coronavirus bacteria can spread from asymptomatic people, the wearing of a cloth-based mask in public places be considered. This is not meant to be the type of mask worn in hospitals and healthcare settings, such as the N45 mask.
Protective masks have been seen on individuals in every country in the world. Yet, the continual message from US experts has been that it is not necessary or even recommended – almost discouraged. Now new research shows that 50% of people or more who can spread the virus are asymptomatic – so they would never been in the cohort that would be going for testing. So – wear a mask.
As one long-time mask wearer has said, “ultimately we have to use our own best judgement. Masks. A no-brainer. Look at places around the world – those who have been before us. Get some masks – make them – wear them in public places.”

There are basic paper masks that can be found on Amazon or eBay – note that shipping can take a while. Keep in mind that you don’t buy one and re-wear it over and over again – you should disinfect it, wash it (if cloth), etc. So buy a quantity or make your own.
