TODAY – Bishop Henning to lead 49th Annual Hunger Walk at Bishop Hendricken HS
Bishop Richard G. Henning, Coadjutor Bishop of Providence, will join the Bishop Hendricken High School community on its 49th Annual Hunger Walk this Holy Thursday, April 6, 2023. The walk will begin at St. Kevin Parish following a 9am prayer service in honor of the lives lost in the tragedy that occurred at The Covenant School.
Every Holy Thursday morning since 1975, the Bishop Hendricken community has come together for its annual Hunger Walk to stand in solidarity with, and raise funds for, the poor, hungry, and food insecure of Rhode Island. The school community walks a 10K (6.5 mi) together through the streets of Warwick and raises funds to benefit local food pantries, homeless shelters, and community food banks.

“It is our honor to welcome back Bishop Henning to the Hendricken community and to have him lead us in this annual Hunger Walk,” said Fr. Robert L. Marciano, KHS ’75, President. “His pastoral passion has been evident since his first day with us and through his long commitment to the mission of the Church in helping the poor and needy. We are proud to have him join the Hendricken men in ‘walking the walk!'”
Iggy’s Doughboys and Chowder House in Warwick will offer 10% of all proceeds on Holy Thursday to the Bishop Hendricken Hunger Walk for the benefit of local community food banks and charity organizations.
Bishop Henning will lead the Hunger Walk alongside Peer Ministers; the Class of 2023; Fr. Marciano; Fr. Brian Morris ’03, Chaplain; and Mark DeCiccio ’03, Principal.
