Your RI Weather Today, Feb. 22, 2022 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Tuesday 2/22/22:
A frontal system has its sights set on us over the next couple of days, with cloud cover moving in initially through the morning ahead of the system’s extended warm front. First drops begin midday/early afternoon and carry on through the evening with warm air wafting in under the cover of rain that will become steadier through the day. Morning lows in the upper 30’s warm to around 50 by late evening with a steadily increasing southerly wind gusting towards and exceeding 30 mph that will add some sting to the normally soft and comforting warm frontal raindrops.
As an aside, my daughter just pointed over my shoulder, “Look at all of those 2’s !!” I guess it’ll be a couple of hundred more years to see any more that today, 2/22/2222. Cool.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards, not away from, thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the McCabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War.
