RI Weather Today, Wednesday 1/8/20:
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
A quick low pressure system will roll through overnight and dump up to 2 inches of light snow onto our surfaces, but there should be time enough for road crews to deal before the morning commute turns to utter madness.
We’re looking for the start of precipitation to commence around 10-11pm and be done by 3-4am. The dewpoints will be relatively low, so we’re not looking at a very sticky type of snow, but more of a light powdery event. Still, if we’re off a bit with the timing, getting around in the first light hours could be a bit more challenging than normal.
Morning lows around 30 degrees will rise to the low 40’s as cloud cover breaks up and the Sun shines through with gusty westerly breezes replacing the overnight northeasterlies.
We’ll post any advisories as necessary, so stay tuned!
