Your RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, May 29/30, 2021
by Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 5/29/21:
A low pressure system intensifies over the mid Atlantic states and hugs the northeast coast over the next day or three. Rain will continue through midday Saturday before lightening up a bit in the afternoon, but then pick up again late Saturday night. Winds will be howling from time to time, northeasterly gusts approaching 40 mph, so if it isn’t tied down, prepare to lose it. Tight temp range with the rain, afternoon highs only in the low 50’s and morning/evening lows in the upper 40’s.
Sunday 5/30/21:
Rain continues into Sunday afternoon, with slightly weaker northeasterly winds, gusts towards 30 mph. Maybe a couple of degrees warmer, but still raw and chilly, afternoon highs in the low to mid 50’s and lows in the upper 40’s. Sadly, looks like rain will continue into Memorial Day. Details Sunday evening.
