Your RI Weather Today, September 22, 2021 – John Donnelly

by John Donnelly, meteorologist

High pressure still in control, but with more low and mid level moisture in place driven by stronger southeasterly flow, dew points will be on the rise, making for a more muggy day. Not terrible, but not exactly a crisp start to the Fall season. Morning lows remain in the upper 60’s with afternoon highs in the upper 70’s under partly to mostly cloudy skies and a bit of that southeasterly breeze gusting at times towards 30 mph.

Jack Donnelly

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards not away from thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the Mccabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War. A meteorologist, John also is an avid golfer, runner, reader, hack guitarist, and walker. If you see a weatherman walking in a blue Jim Cantore weather jacket carrying an umbrella, look out!
