Your RI Weather Today, Oct. 3, 2021 – John Donnelly
by John Donnelly, meteorologist
Not quite the magically delicious conditions of yesterday, we’ll still have no serious weather issues on this Sunday. A bit of high cloud cover will prevent low temperatures from crashing, instead they’ll just ease through and settle in the low 60’s by sunrise. A frontal system in the distant west begins to make progress, and we may just catch a few drops of light rain, but not until the deep night. Afternoon highs again in the mid to upper 70’s with a light breeze generally out of the south.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. As a child John always wanted to know how air moved, and he ran towards not away from thunder and lighting and various other ominous weather phenomena. He returned in 2001 to the old family neighborhood of Elmhurst where the Mccabe’s, Donnelly’s, Walker’s and Callan’s have been since after the Civil War. A meteorologist, John also is an avid golfer, runner, reader, hack guitarist, and walker. If you see a weatherman walking in a blue Jim Cantore weather jacket carrying an umbrella, look out!
