Nursing Homes: 76% of all RI covid-19 deaths have occurred in nursing homes – 62% in MA; 57% in CT.  Question of ‘why is that’ has come forward.  Nursing home situation across the country is tragic. We moved quickly  to curtail visitation. We didn’t move quick enough to not discharge recovery COVID patients back to nursing homes. We were among the first in the country to test all staff members – right now we are in 3rd phase of testing.  We used a Congregate Support Team to go into nursing homes to help when the homes request it. We’ve done 34 of these. Grief and trauma support. PPE instruction and training. Staff fill-in support.
