Wreaths Across America
Next weekend, volunteers will lay wreaths at the graves of our fallen heroes all across the United States. Several cemeteries here in Rhode Island will have formal ceremonies where the names of all the buried veterans will be read and wreaths will be placed.
With the theme, REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom – here are the Rhode Island locations, to date:
Fort Adams State Park Cemetery
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM, Wreaths Across America will be at Fort Adams State Park Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Approximately 300 wreaths are needed.
Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:45 AM, Wreaths Across America will be at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Approximately 240 wreaths are needed.
Newport Area Cemeteries (Island Cemetery)
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 PM, Wreaths Across America will be at Newport Area Cemeteries (Island Cemetery) to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Approximately 825 wreaths are needed.
Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:45 AM, Wreaths Across America will be at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Approximately 2,040 wreaths are needed.
Foster WWII Memorial & Glocester War Memorial’
On Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 12:00 PM, Wreaths Across America will be at Foster WWII Memorial & Glocester War Memorial to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Approximately 220 wreaths are needed.
