Union Fire District of South Kingstown & local Elks to install smoke, CO alarms in homes
The Union Fire District of South Kingstown (UFD) and the South Kingstown Elks Lodge #1899 have partnered to begin a Smoke Alarm and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Installation Program.
The South Kingstown Elks Lodge received a grant to purchase combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to be installed in homes within the UFD, with priority on senior and veteran residents.
The UFD and South Kingstown Elks Lodge is also seeking other organizations in the area to assist with the installation of these alarms. Please contact Fire Marshal Chris Hiener at 401-789-8354 if interested in assisting with this fire safety program.
Smoke alarms save lives. Smoke alarms that are properly installed and maintained play a vital role in reducing fire deaths and injuries. If there is a fire in your home, smoke spreads fast and you need smoke alarms to give you time to get out.

Anyone interested is encouraged to click here to sign up or call the UFD at 401-789-8354.
