Twilight Wish Foundation forms Rhode Island chapter
National nonprofit Twilight Wish Foundation, headquartered in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Donnelly as director of the newly-formed Rhode Island chapter. Donnelly worked as a quality assurance manager for many years, most recently at the Educational Records Bureau in Manhattan. In addition, she volunteered for the National Charity League for seven years with her daughter. During her time volunteering there, she found the most rewarding assignments were at local nursing homes, assisted living facilities and with Meals on Wheels.
“When my own mother entered an assisted living facility, I loved working with the recreation directors to entertain her and her friends,” said Donnelly. “So, I am very excited to celebrate seniors in Rhode Island!”
Twilight Wish Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that grants wishes to seniors who are over 65 years old and have an income of less than 200% of poverty level annually, or who are permanent residents of a nursing facility. The mission of Twilight Wish Foundation is to honor and enrich the lives of seniors through intergenerational wish granting celebrations.
A life-changing encounter with a group of senior citizens at a Pennsylvania diner was the inspiration for Twilight Wish Foundation. In 2003, Twilight Wish founder Cass Forkin noticed a group of elderly women counting out their change to pay for their meal and anonymously paid it for them. The women – grateful and touched by this generosity – insisted on knowing who treated them to their meal. Their gratitude for her simple gesture inspired Forkin to found Twilight Wish, an organization that addresses the unmet needs of the elderly. Since that day in the diner twenty years ago, Twilight Wish has granted over 5,207 wishes to deserving, low-income seniors, thanks to volunteers, corporate and community involvement and donations.

Great work Jane! Hugs Kim
