To Do in RI: Warwick Firefighters Scoop Ice Cream to Help Homeless Animals
Warwick Firefighters will be behind the counter scooping everyone’s favorite flavors of ice cream at Apponaug Village Creamery, 10 Music Lane, Warwick, RI (located behind Walgreens) on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2 pm to 5 pm.Â
All tips and 10% of the sales will benefit Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter to help the animals at Warwick Animal Shelter.
The firefighters will be scooping premium hard ice cream, serving customers, chatting with visitors and answering all firefighter-related questions.
The Warwick Animal Shelter invites shelter dog alumni to join the fun on the dog-friendly patio. Bring the kids and dairy-free flavors are also available.
For more information, contact Apponaug Village Creamery at 401-889-3334 or visit www.Apponaugvillagecreamery.com

Angel (featured in top photo) is adoptable at Warwick Animal Shelter and our poster boy for Scoops & Sirens. He came to the shelter after his owner moved to a nursing home in May 2024 and has been waiting for 1 year and 3 months to find a home. Angel is a male Lab/Rotty mix, about 6 years old, neutered, vaccinated, negative for heartworm, house trained, crate trained, moderately active, must be the only pet in the home. He comes with free training from Handsome Dan Rescue too to ensure success in his new home. Contact Warwick Animal Shelter or stop by to meet Angel.
Friends of the Warwick Animal Shelter is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that uses donations and fundraiser proceeds to benefit the homeless cats and dogs at the Warwick Animal Shelter. Donations are tax-deductible, as allowable by law. Visit: http://friendsri.org
