Shoreline Fishing and Clamming (Pesca en la costa y busca almejas) TUESDAY at Rocky Point

A FREE bilingual family-friendly fishing event at Rocky Point! Learn how to dig for clams with Jody King, longtime commercial shell fisherman and shoreline fish with the Providence Parks Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership.

Transportation to and from Rocky Point is available through registration. For those interested, we will be providing a bus to transport participants from Providence to Rocky Point and back again. The bus will leave from Alvarez High School (375 Adelaide Ave, Providence, RI 02907)

Light refreshments will be served (sandwich, chips, drink) and all fishing equipment will be provided. Bilingual (Spanish) staff will be on hand to help guide families through the different stations.

Don’t know how to fish? No problem! This event will teach you all the skills you need to know to fish in our state.

Acompáñenos para un evento bilingüe GRATUITO de la pesca de almejas y peces para familias en el Parque de Rocky Point. Aprende a escarbar en busca de almejas con Jody King, pescador comercial de conchas y pesca en la costa con RI Department of Environmental Management.

Transporte hacia y desde Rocky Point esta disponible. Para quien le interesa, proveemos un bus para llevar participantes desde Providence hasta el Parque Rocky Point y de vuelta. El bus saldrá desde Alvarez High School (375 Adelaide Ave, Providence, RI 02907) a las 3:15 de la tarde.

Se servirán alimentos ligeros (sándwiches, papitas, y bebidas) y se proporcionará todo el equipo de pesca. Un equipo bilingüe (Español) estará disponible para ayudar a guiar a las familias a través de las diferentes estaciones.

This is a program of the Providence Parks Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership. Their goal is to bring a greater appreciation for nature to the city by utilizing public parks as outdoor learning spaces – so get out and explore!

We will be meeting by the Rocky Point Park Fishing Pier for this Fishing and Clamming event. If you are driving yourself, you can park in the parking lot indicated in red on this image below. Accessible parking is available directly in front of the Rocky Point State Fishing Pier. There will be signs to guide you to the fishing area. The address for Rocky Point is 1 Rocky Point Ave., Warwick, RI.
