FEELING LOST

You know, some days I’m ready to play the game of life, and other days, I feel as though I have a cement helmet on which weighs me down. I am not sure if it’s the world, the news, the enemy, my own thoughts, my unresolved sadness regarding my father, my sick mother… I guess, it really doesn’t matter what the root cause is, because when I feel so much at once, I struggle. Usually I turn to God, and I did that recently, but when I went looking for him, I couldn’t find him. I went to church Easter Sunday, as I do every Sunday, but felt a void. Felt a void on good Friday… felt a void all day Monday. As a last resort, I offered up the question to my FB friends. “What do you do when you feel far from God?” Amazingly, so many people reached out , sent me emails, direct messages… I was so happy that FB was actually serving a positive purpose. As I grow and walk along with God, I have to learn that feelings don’t matter. The ebb and flow of them, and life, is as natural as breathing. I want to thank the people who sent thoughts, suggestions, ideas. I am so happy that there are others in the world that understand the struggle and the journey.

I’ll never stop searching or believing,

Thanks to so many of you…

Till next week friends

SPRING IN OUR STEPS

A new survey shows two thirds of Americans consider Spring to be the season of change and what motivates them to get moving. The polls show 44% need warmer weather to energize them. Half of those asked say they become more spontaneous in spring and here’s what runs through their minds.

-Refreshing their goals (like those New Year resolutions you bailed on in February)

-Cleaning up their diet (see above)

-Exploring new hobbies

-Being more social

UNWANTED EASTER CANDY USES

It’s hard to believe but some families wind up with an excess of Easter candy. So, what to do with it when your stuffed, and it might go stale? Here are some tips from Ron & Jen. Excess candy? Not in our houses… but, anyway, here ya go!

– Freeze It. Frozen Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and frozen Milky Ways or Three Musketeers are the bomb. Not so much, Peeps.

– Donate it?… Nah

– Compost it… again, nah

– Just go ahead and eat it… and spend a few extra hours on that treadmill

CLOWNS TO THE LEFT OF ME, JOKERS TO THE RIGHT

A NEW SURVEY OF OVER 2,000 LICENSED DRIVERS finds about half of Americans use their cell phones while driving. Those surveyed cited the need to respond to family or friends, a need for information, or their concerned they’ll miss a call from their kids. Distracted driving was responsible for 3,000 deaths in 2020 according to the Governor’s Highway Association. Driving using a handheld cell phone in Rhode Island IS illegal – but you sure wouldn’t know it.

BAMBINO BONANZA

An auction house in Pennsylvania sold a bat used by Babe Ruth for a record $1.85 million dollars. The sale is also unique in that it’s the only known example to offer photo evidence. The bat’s value shot up after an analyst matched markings on the barrel to a photograph of Ruth swinging it at New York’s famed Polo Grounds in 1921. That was the year the Sultan of Swat hit 59 homers… a record he’d beat with 60 in 1927.

    Jen,

It could be that God has a few questions for you. Like, why is it so hard for you to maintain your faith? Do not fear to hope.
