Ron & Jen’s Great Escape – 9-14-22 – Ron St. Pierre and Jen Brien

HATING ON THE QUEEN

This past week with the Queen’s passing it became apparent to me that long gone is the beauty of differences, history, tradition… And a respect for those cultural differences. I read that a close aide to the Obama administration said white America is enthralled with the Royals because we all long for white supremacy. What a load of horse crap. While I try and behave, that one went right up  my…well, you know where it went.

I know the world is rough, and violent and unfair and there have been major injustices done to the black community, the gay community, the Irish, the Jewish community, women… and so on, but when do we stop looking in the rear view mirror, and look ahead. Ahead to how we want to live, who we want to be. Not who we were. The queen ultimately is a figurehead in British politics and the monarchy in the 20th century didn’t get involved with British politics as the institution evolved. Historians, heads of state, political leaders from all around the globe will go pay tribute to her Majesty because she was a phenomenal leader. The problem was not her leadership, or the jewels in the crown like the ladies at The VIEW love to discuss. She simply was the wrong color. Right now, white people are not supposed to be revered and celebrated. As one commentator said, “They are to be demonized and called domestic terrorists by some.”

The Queen was, and will always be, something very special to billions of people around the world. In spite of her skin color and despite what woke folks want you to believe.

God rest Queen Elizabeth, and thank you.

Jennifer

WINTER BLUES

As the sun begins to set earlier with fall on the way, you may experience the “winter blues.” Is such a condition actually brought on by less daylight? Absolutely, and it’s called “seasonal affective disorder. School age kids are the most at risk as they head back to the classroom…T HOSE BACK TO SCHOOL BLUES. The condition actually impacts one out of 20 American adults too.

RELEASE THE HOUNDS

Queen Elizabeth’s beloved Corgis will now live with the Duke and Duchess of York.  Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson have been divorced for 26 years but supposedly have remained close friends living at Royal Lodge on the Windsor Estate. Hopefully the dogs are house-trained, as Andrew’s dealing with enough crap, already.

Simplistic thought, but would be nice if all people got along. Dream on.
