Rise to Black: Sounds of Freedom – Mixed Magic Theatre
Rise to Black: Sounds of Freedom – Celebrating the Life & Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Mixed Magic Theatre will have two performances celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. The first is on Friday, January 27th at 7:30pm and the second is on Monday, January 20th, Martin Luther King Day, at 2pm.
The theatre is located at 560 Mineral Spring Avenue in Pawtucket.
Martin Luther King Jr.’s “ Letter From Birmingham City Jail “ is a call for non-violent protest, against injustice and intolerance. Equal parts blistering and compassionate, this seminal text of the Civil Rights Movement is a look into the soul of a man and a country, and is as relevant today as it was when it was written in 1963.
This is a presentation for all people and all ages. One of Mixed Magic Theatre’s main goals is to use the theatre to promote passionate and meaningful conversations about the world in which we live.
Tickets are $10 – go to: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/4481415
