RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, May 23/24, 2020
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 5/23/20:
Low pressure developing over the mid-Atlantic coast sneaks in overnight and sets up shop with rain and northeasterly breezes likely through the afternoon and into early evening. Noticeably cooler with a morning high in the low 60’s followed by an evening low around 50.
Sunday 5/24/20:
Low pressure slides east and stalls offshore at first giving us a fair bulk of Sunday weather, partly cloudy skies and the same cool highs in the low 60’s up from a morning low in the upper 40’s. The combination of lighter breezes and sunshine will take some of the edge off of the cooler temps. The low backs up a bit later in the day with the chance for light rain by evening. The low will then unravel and weaken so the rain should not be strong or long lived.
