RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, Jan 11/12, 2020
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Saturday 1/11/20:
Windy with unusual warmth funnelling in ahead of a frontal system that continues to develop over the mid-west. Clouds will pick up as well with the occasional glimpse of the Sun peeking through from time to time through midday before tucking itself away for the evening. Morning lows in the low 40’s and an afternoon high in the low 60’s, over 20 degrees above normal in these parts.
Sunday 1/12/20:
Wind remains strong and shifts to westerly through morning as rain works through the area, lasting through mid-afternoon as the cold front passes through. The heat pump will stay on and drive temps from a morning low in the low 50’s to an afternoon high charging towards 70! A big thaw for what’s been a less than impressive Winter.
