RI Weekend Weather Wrap – Sat/Sun, Dec. 28/29, 2019
By Jack Donnelly, meteorologist
Warm Late December Pattern Continues…A great weekend bookended by cloud cover.
Saturday 12/28/19:
High pressure situated to our west will push away the cloud cover and weak front that has just passed. Cloud cover will diminish as well, with some decent sunshine expected from late morning on. A morning low held up by cloud cover will drop only to the mid and upper 30’s, followed by light northerly breezes and warming to around 50 midday at peak late-December heating, for what it’s worth.

Sunday 12/29/19:
High pressure moves east, causing little more than a wind shift to northeasterly, helping to funnel slightly cooler air into the area. Cloud cover will increase later in the day, well ahead of a developing storm system over the southern plains that we’ll be watching over the next couple of days. Morning lows in the upper 20’s will warm to the mid 40’s with those light northeasterly breezes.
